Choose where viewers can comment and how to moderate replies

RamTV lets your users discuss supported content on your website. You can choose where comments appear, how deep replies go, and whether a role’s comments need approval before they become public.

Key Features

  1. Supported content: Enable comments for all supported types or choose specific types, such as movies and TV episodes.
  2. Replies: Users can reply to comments, up to the thread depth you set.
  3. Community actions: Users can like, dislike or report comments.
  4. Deletion grace period: A user can delete their own comment for a limited time after posting.

Step 1: Enabling & Configuring Global Settings

Go to Setting → User → Comments. Comments are switched off on a fresh install, so tick Enabled first.

Enabled switches commenting on or off. Enabled objects chooses which supported content types show a comment section.

Comment Thread Depth sets the maximum reply depth, from 1 to 5. At 1, comments have no replies. Comment Deletion Grace Period sets how many hours a user has to remove their own comment.

Step 2: Setting Up User Permissions & Auto-Approval

Check the role that your users actually hold. The default Users role may already allow comments; you can change that permission or create another role for moderation.

Go to Admin → Users → Roles & Access and edit the user role.

Use Comment to allow posting. Without it, users in that role cannot submit comments.

Use Comment - Pre Approved to publish that role’s comments immediately. Leave it off if you want to approve them first.

If a user has several roles, check all of them when testing permissions: an enabled comment permission on one role can grant access.

Managing & Moderating Comments

Review, approve, unapprove or remove comments from the admin list. Check reported comments as part of your moderation routine.

Open Admin → Users → User Content → Comments.
