Adding Content & Media
How records, files and cover art fit together
In this article we'll focus on adding content & media to RKHM

Admin CRUD
RKHM boasts one of CodeCanyon’s most sophisticated admin panels, empowering you to effortlessly add, edit, and manage all types of content. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of manually adding a podcast as an example
Most content plugins follow a structured hierarchy of objects:
- Creator: The originator of content (e.g., Artist for music, Podcaster for podcasts)
- Group Object: A collection of related content (e.g., Album for music, Show for podcasts)
- Single Object: Individual content items (e.g., Track for music, Episode for podcasts)
- Tag Objects: Metadata for categorization (optional)
- Source Object: Hosts multimedia files or embeds (e.g., direct uploads, YouTube, SoundCloud)
The exception is the Radio plugin, which has no creator or group object. The Beat plugin follows the same shape as Music: Producer → Pack → Beat → Source.
Step-by-Step Content Creation Workflow
To ensure seamless organization, always begin with top-level objects and progress downward. For example:
- Add a Creator (e.g., a Podcaster)
- Create a Group Object (e.g., a Podcast Show)
- Create Single Objects (e.g., Podcast Episodes)
- Assign Sources (e.g., audio files or embedded links)
This parent-child hierarchy supports unlimited nesting: a Creator can have multiple Shows, each Show can host multiple Episodes, and each Episode can include multiple Sources (e.g., varying audio qualities or platform embeds)
In the video below, we show you how to add a sample podcast
Uploader
The uploader lets people add content from your website without opening the admin panel. First enable Upload content for the appropriate client user role. Installed content plugins can add their own upload permission and allowed source types; for example, Music can accept audio, video, YouTube, or SoundCloud sources, while Podcast can accept audio, video, or YouTube. Review those role settings before inviting users to upload.
In the uploader, choose a content type and source, then create or select the creator and collection before submitting the individual item. The available steps depend on the installed plugin. Check your file-size and allowed-format settings under Settings → Files; if background processing is enabled, the cron runner must be working before uploaded media becomes ready.
