Demo Importer

Every official RKHM demo can be imported straight into your own install — the same content, theme and pages you see on our demo sites, in one click. This is a real, working feature, but it has firm preconditions and it is destructive, so read this whole article before you touch the Import button.

The demos

Each demo pairs one theme with one specific plugin combination — you can't import a demo without first matching both:

boxi.rkhm.busyowl.co is the flagship — the fullest showcase, on our most complete theme. The rest are smaller, single- or few-vertical demos if you want something closer to what you're actually launching.

Setting it up, in order

The importer checks the theme and plugins before it touches anything — skip one and it refuses (showing the required theme, or the full list of plugins that demo needs) rather than importing a broken mix:

1. Decide which demo matches what you're building, from the table above
2. Set theme in config_user.php to that demo's theme — this is the value the importer checks — and activate the same theme as the Desktop Theme under Setting → Themes. Phones use the Shadyf0n mobile theme automatically (separate desktop and mobile theme slots were added in v2.1.04)
3. Install every plugin that demo needs, under Setting → Plugins
4. Install the Demo Importer tool itself, under Modules → Tools → Tool Manager — this adds a new Demo Importer page under Modules
5. Open that page, pick your matching demo from the dropdown, and click IMPORT

The importer downloads the demo from Busyowl's server and clears your files folder with a shell command, so PHP's exec() function must be enabled on your server (some shared hosts disable it). It also needs a valid license, like every other download from our server.

Once it's done, you have a full, working copy of that demo — pages, menus, branding and catalogue included — to explore, learn from, or build your real site on top of.
